Safety and Health

At the AGC of Virginia, we are dedicated to helping protect your greatest asset: your employees.  Through proven and effective techniques, we offer a full spectrum of training courses for safety professionals and jobsite workers, in addition to a large library of training aids. The AGC of Virginia works to enhance job safety by promoting safe working conditions and safe working practices and provides safety and health training courses to educate you and your staff in all aspects of on-the-job safety.

The AGC of Virginia’s absolute commitment to safety is made clear through our formation of Safety Alliances - voluntary groups of members who work together to provide safety training and other support to ensure safe work sites.

Additionally, members have access to an expansive library of safety textbooks, videotapes, and training aids available in multiple languages.

The AGC of Virginia also offers group health, dental, life, worker’s compensation and disability programs.

Legislation and Public Affairs

You deserve a voice in the construction industry. You also deserve to know the details of the issues that affect your business. That is why the AGC of Virginia is constantly working hand-in-hand with government officials to promote your point of view. The AGC of Virginia understands the importance of protecting your ability to self-manage your firm and prevent unwarranted government intervention. We also understand that poorly conceived legislation can cost you money. That’s why we are on the front lines of legislation and public affairs, promoting the interests of the construction industry.

The AGC’s influence among members of Congress, White House officials, and legislative operatives is unmatched by any other construction organization. Count on the AGC to provide close monitoring of issues at both the state and federal levels.  Additionally, the AGC of Virginia is the effective advocate for more than 50,000 construction workers in Virginia.

The AGC of Virginia provides members with a constant stream of information about legal affairs, government regulations, legislative updates and industry matters of direct concern to Virginia businesses.
