AGCVA Members Recognized Among Construction Executive's Top 50 Construction Accounting Firms
Brown Edwards & Company, LLP (Roanoke District) were ranked #34 and YHB | CPAs & Consultants (Valley District) were ranked #35 in Construction Executive's Top 50 Construction Accounting Firms. Construction Executive developed The Top 50 Construction Accounting Firms™ ranking by asking more than 700 U.S. construction accounting firms to complete a survey. The data collected included: 1) 2022 revenues from the firm’s construction practice; 2) number of CPAs in the firm’s construction practice; 3) percentage of the firm’s total revenues derived from its construction practice; 4) number of states in which the firm is licensed to practice; 5) year in which the construction practice was established; and 6) number of AEC clients served during fiscal year 2022. The ranking was determined by an algorithm that weighted the aforementioned factors in descending order of importance.

If you're not familiar with this project, it has a unique twist.
Career & Technical Education (CTE) students did the full renovation of this space, with oversight and partnership from construction industry professionals. From the design of the space to all aspects of construction, this project was completed by Henrico County CTE students.
Our hats off to Henrico County Public Schools, and their incredible CTE program, as well as the many, many individuals who made this possible.
Watch the video below to see what regional and state leaders had to say about this incredible project.

SAFETY
![]() |
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), over the past 10 years, at least, an average of 346 workers were killed from falls, slips, and trips, and nonfatal injuries and illnesses that resulted from falls, slips, and trips occurred at a rate of 31.4 per 10,000 full-time workers in 2020. Moreover, fall protection violations continue to be among the most cited standards in the construction industry, consistently topping the list of OSHA’s most frequently cited violations.
AGC of America, supported by a Susan Harwood Federal Training Grant, is pleased to offer this one-day Fall Prevention in Construction safety training based on OSHA standards and best practices to answer the need for quality training within the industry. Classes will be delivered virtually via Zoom Meetings and attendees will have the opportunity to earn continuing education credits (0.8 IACET CEUs).
